Chiropractic Care for Babies & Newborns on the Mornington Peninsula

We welcome newborns from their very first weeks of life through to toddlerhood. Many parents bring their baby in simply for a gentle check-up, the same way they'd visit a maternal health nurse or paediatrician. It's one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

What We Commonly See:

  • Birth related spinal & nervous system stress

  • Unsettled behaviour, excessive crying and difficulty settling

  • Feeding difficulties and latching concerns

  • Wind, reflux and digestive discomfort

  • Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome)

  • Torticollis (neck muscle tightness or persistent head tilt)

  • Developmental milestone support

All techniques used with newborns and infants are specifically adapted and extraordinarily gentle and nothing like the adjustments used for adults. The amount of pressure used is often compared to the weight of a fingertip. Our practitioners have training in paediatric chiropractic care and will always walk you through exactly what they're observing, what it means, and what they recommend. We know handing over your newborn takes real trust.

  • Yes. Chiropractic care for newborns uses very gentle, specifically adapted techniques that are quite different from adult adjustments.

  • Many parents bring their newborn in within the first few weeks of life. There is no minimum age, we see some babies the day they are born!

  • The first visit involves a thorough history including your pregnancy and birth experience, followed by a gentle physical assessment of your baby. Your practitioner will explain their findings clearly and discuss what chiropractic care will involve for your baby.
